The pair, both in their 40s, are being held on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter after the girl suffered the fall on Sunday 1 July.

She died in hospital from her injuries.

The man and woman, who have not been named, are awaiting questioning at Great Yarmouth Police station.

Emergency situation declared in Carseldine as police negotiate with man over stabbing .
Police are believed to be negotiating with Lee Hillier, who was being sought for questioning over the stabbing death of a man north of Brisbane on Thursday.A police spokeswoman said police were negotiating with a man who was holed up in a property in Carseldine.
