The 45-year-old was widely regarded as favourite for the role, since Arnold announced he was taking the Socceroos job after the World Cup.

Corica has been at the Sky Blues since the inception of the club, first as a player from 2005-2010, and then as a youth coach and an assistant since his playing retirement.

By installing Corica as manager, Sydney FC are attempting to retain the successful culture that led the club to consecutive A-League premierships, a championship and FFA cup glory.
