After a "ripper" effort to take home the silver medal in Tuesday night's 1500m, Australian wheelchair racing champion Kurt Fearnley has confirmed the race would be his last, issuing a passionate challenge to his fans.

"That's done. That's absolutely everything that I had," Fearnley said in the post-race interview after being asked if it would be his last appearance on the track.

Fearnley said he'd be looking forward to passing the baton to younger teammate Jake Lappin, who took bronze in the event.
