The 22-year-old midfielder is close to inking a two-year deal contract extension, according to multiple media outlets.

The Victorian had been expected to extend his time at the Giants despite suitors from his home state lining up to make offers.

He was reportedly offered a nine-year deal by North Melbourne worth $10 million, with the Giants' contract believed to be worth around $300,000 less per season.

It comes amid an impressive 2017 campaign for Kelly, who was rewarded with his maiden All-Australian selection after averaging 29.4 disposals a game for GWS.

The Giants celebrated another list management win on Wednesday when 2012 No.1 draft pick Lachie Whitfield re-signed until 2020.
