Cockatoo Island on Sydney Harbour has been home to the program since it launched last year, but due to noise complaints from nearby residents during the filming of the current season -- which premieres on Nine this Sunday-- the show will potentially relocate to Melbourne.

"Where we've been on Cockatoo Island, we've always had noise issues because water carries sound very well, and production can't start until sunset," Nine chief executive Hugh Marks told Confidential. "We might need to find another location -- and we always envisaged [Ninja Warrior being based] in Melbourne.

"Melbourne has always been a great supporter of Australian content, so it's a good possibility."

Until then, this season is set to go off, with celebrities and fitness enthusiasts alike gearing up to take on the gruelling obstacles. Among them is notorious party boy Corey Worthington.

You may remember him as the 16-year-old who threw the infamous house party in his sleepy Melbourne neighbourhood while his parents were away on holidays.

Ten years on from the party that rocked the nation and Worthington, now 26, looks to have gone from bogan to buffed. Although, it remains to be seen if he's retired his infamous yellow party sunglasses altogether.

"[I] can confirm that the sunglasses did get a run on the Ninja Warrior course," host Ben Fordham told news.com.au. "I'm not sure that he kept them on [for the full course], because if they had fallen off mid-obstacle and had hit the water, it would have been an instant disqualification.

"I'm pretty sure he threw them over at [co-host] Freddie Flintoff, who wore them while Corey was going through the course," Fordham added.
