The 32-year-old vineyard manager, who is now happily loved-up with Keira Maguire, famously tried to win over Ali when they appeared on Bachelor in Paradise earlier this year. (The series filmed at the end of 2017.)

When things fizzled out between Jarrod and Ali, he quickly moved on with Keira, and the two ended up becoming one of the island's strongest couples. Ali also found love in Fiji -- with Grant Kemp, the tall, dark and handsome American intruder who happens to be a Bachelor in Paradise veteran.

At the end of the Bachelor in Paradisefinale it was revealed that Ali had been cast as the star of The Bachelorette in 2018, because things obviously didn't work out with Grant.

During an appearance on KIIS 1065's Kyle and Jackie O Show this morning, Jarrod was asked for his thoughts about The Bachelorette casting Ali during a 'Cost of Love' game segment. As part of the game, Keira and Jarrod were tested on their knowledge of each other, and Keira had to guess Jarrod's pre-recorded response to the question.

"He thinks she's boring," Keira said without knowing Jarrod's answer. "He's like, if they're gonna choose her they might as well not have a show."

It was also in this interview that Keira revealed she was the one who started the rumour about Grant asking Ali to participate in a threesome when she visited him in LA, which was one the reported reasons for their breakup.

After hearing these stories, Grant took matters into his own hands and organised interviews where he said he broke up with Ali.

Grant's tale led to other reports that Network Ten was having regrets about casting Ali, and that they were considering replacing her with fan favourite Nikki Gogan, but a spokesperson confirmed The Bachelorette would be going ahead with Ali. "Network Ten is looking forward to Ali finding love on The Bachelorette Australia later this year," the spokeswoman told news.com.au.

As for why Keira decided to spread that rumour in the first place, she said it was because she was trying to protect Ali. "We already knew all the goss before everyone else," Keira said of Grant's story. "I'm the one that started that one," she continued, "because I knew what actually happened and I didn't want it to come out. I told someone I knew would talk to the tabloids." She later said, "I would rather protect someone than throw them under the bus."

Jarrod didn't necessarily agree with his girlfriend, saying, "I think that if anything like that happens, I don't wanna be standing at a rose ceremony not knowing that she's done what she did."

The ironic thing is that it was the threesome rumour that actually caused Grant to come out with his side of the story in the first place.
