Carrie Bickmore became choked up after hearing about a 12-year-old boy's struggle with Tourette's syndrome.

During Tuesday night's episode of The Project, the 37-year-old presenter broke down after Cameron Schubert confessed that he had thought about self-harming before.

'I have thought a lot of suicidal thoughts,' Cameron said.

The youngster, who was diagnosed at the age of nine and suffers from both verbal and physical tics, urged the public to look more kindly on people who may share his syndrome.
