Sydney’s largest venue, ANZ Stadium, today warned fans of the increasing risk of scalping after fake and overpriced tickets were seen to be sold on websites such as Viagogo and Gumtree, leaving concert-goers out of pocket by hundreds – or possibly thousands – of dollars.

With more than one million tickets already sold to Sheeran’s shows around Australia, tickets have been sold on Viagogo for as much as $3500 before they went on sale via official websites for the singer’s three concerts at ANZ Stadium next week.

Sheeran is set to perform at Adelaide Oval tonight for the South Australian part of his tour, where the concert has not been named as a major event and therefore falls out of anti-scalping laws.

The singer will also perform on March 10, 11 and 12 at Melbourne's Etihad Stadium, March 15, 16 and 17 at Sydney's ANZ Stadium and March 20 and 21 at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium before moving on to New Zealand.
