  Spotify sued for $1.6bn over copyright infringement of over 10,000 songs Wixen Music Published has sued music streaming service Spotify for $1.6bn over claims it breached copyright on more than 10,000 songs.The California company Wixen Music Publishing is seeking damages of at least $1.6bn (£1.18bn) claiming it used the tracks without a licence, allowing it to reproduce and distribute the songs, Reuters reported.

Over the weekend, reports surfaced that Lana Del Rey is being sued by Radiohead for alleged similarities between her song “Get Free,” off her new album “Lust for Life,” and their 1993 hit “Creep.” “ Their lawyers have been relentless , so we will deal with it in court.”

Lana Del Rey has confirmed that Radiohead is suing her for copyright infringement.

Lana Del Rey with collar shirt © Neil Krug/Billboard Lana Del Rey “It’s true about the lawsuit,” Del Rey tweeted. “Although I know my song wasn’t inspired by Creep, Radiohead feel it was and want 100% of the publishing -- I offered up to 40 over the last few months but they will only accept 100. Their lawyers have been relentless, so we will deal with it in court.”

“Get Free” currently lists Del Rey, Kieron Menzies and Rick Nowels as songwriters.

A spokesperson for Radiohead told Billboard the band currently has no comment on the matter. Billboard has also reached out to Del Rey's reps for further comment.
