According to the NHS, the cause of Fibromyalgia is unknown, 'but it's thought to be related to abnormal levels of certain chemicals in the brain and changes in the way the central nervous system (brain, spinal cord and nerves) processes pain messages carried around the body.'

Genetics is also at play, although it is also triggered by an emotionally or physically stressful event, such as 'an injury or infection, giving birth, having an operation, the breakdown of a relationship, the death of a loved one.'

Though Gaga has not given birth (as far as we know), she has had all the rest of those things have happen to her.

Her original Tweet from 2013 came around the time she went through surgery on her hip.

She is also said to reveal in the documentary that, 'My love life has just imploded. I sold 10 million [records] and lost Matt. I sold 30 million and lost Luke. I did a movie and lose Taylor. It's like a turnover. This is the third time I've had my heart broken like this.'

Gaga's most recent album was named after her Aunt Joanne, who died 12 years before Gaga was born, but who has had an immense impact on her life and the life of her family.

The symptoms of Fibromyalgia are diverse, but the overarching symptom is widespread pain across the body.

Other symptoms can also include, 'increased sensitivity to pain, fatigue (extreme tiredness), muscle stiffness, difficulty sleeping, problems with mental processes (known as "fibro-fog") – such as problems with memory and concentration, headaches and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS.)'

Unfortunately, there is no current cure for the disorder and only pain management is available.

I was so overwhelmed by the empathy, confessions & personal stories of chronic pain in response to my previous post I thought what the hell. Maybe I should just share some of my personal remedies I've acquired over the past five years. Everyone's body and condition is different U should consult w ure Dr. but what the heck here we go! When my body goes into a spasm one thing I find really helps is infrared sauna. I've invested in one. They come in a large box form as well as a low coffin-like form and even some like electric blankets! You can also look around your community for a infrared sauna parlor or homeopathic center that has one. I combine this treatment with marley silver emergency blankets (seen in the photo) that trap in the heat and are very cheap, reusable and effective for detox as well as weight loss! In order to not overheat my system and cause more inflammation i follow this with either a VERY cold bath, ice bath (if u can stand it, it's worth it) or the most environmentally savvy way is to keep many reusable cold packs in the freezer ( or frozen peas' n carrots'!) and pack them around the body in all areas of pain. Hope this helps some of you, it helps me to keep doing my passion, job and the things I love even on days when I feel like I can't get out of bed. Love you and thank you for all your positive messages.

Back in 2016, she posted an Instagram explaining how she deals with the pain, though she still had not revealed what her particular illness was.

It's terrible to think that all this time she has been suffering so intensely whilst performing all these shows, though hopefully, her documentary will bring greater awareness for chronic pain sufferers.

Bradley Cooper-Lady Gaga’s ‘Star is Born’ Moves to May 2018 .
Warner Bros.’ “A Star is Born” remake starring Stefani Germanotta (Lady Gaga) and Bradley Cooper, who is also directing, is moving up its release to May 18, 2018. The pic was originally set to open Sept. 28, 2018 but the studio sees it as a strong counter-programming move by putting it in the midst of summer tentpoles. The studio pulled a similar move when it pushed its “Great Gatsby” remake starring Leonardo DiCaprio from December to May, which worked in its favor as the film went to gross more then $300 million worldwide. The film will go up against an untitled Laika production and Screen Gems’ “Slenderman” pic.
