Now To Love exclusively caught up with The Biggest Loser trainer, and we learned he's still doing a lot of running ... mainly around his baby boy Axel.

"It’s my fourth time round! A few years down the track, I’ve got a lot more experience on my side and I’m more settled into who I am. It’s really nice providing an environment for Axel to flourish," Michelle Bridges' beau told us exclusively.

Steve, who has three kids from previous relationships, shared, "It's great for Axel to have four siblings to emulate."

While the fitness champ would return to our screens with Michelle in a heartbeat, for now The Commando is throwing all his energy into raising awareness for Jeans for Genes Day.

"One of the big reasons I’m on board is because I have four healthy young children [Brianna, 18, Ella, 9, Jack, 5 and Axel, 19 months ] who are just starting their lives."

The former Biggest Loser coach was gobsmacked when he learned 1 in 20 kids are born with a genetic disorder.

"It is necessary to help the human race and help them have a better quality of life," he explained to us.

The 41-year-old has joined the charity as one their "genies".

Telling us more about the role, he explained, "I really want to try and raise as much awareness for Jeans for Genes Day and help with the fundraising. It’s so important for the Children’s Medical Research Institute and for the continued research at Westmead."

The proud dad was touched when he heard from one of the families who've benefited from the charity's admirable work.

"One story that stayed with me was Maddy Luk. Her mum, Nicole was 17 weeks pregnant when she discovered she wouldn’t be giving birth to a healthy baby."

"Maddy was born with Diastrophic Dysplasia, a rare and debilitating form of dwarfism which causes severe joint pain and bone deformity."

"Hearing about how strong she is and how strong the family is was extremely moving."

And the gift of giving back seems to be a family trait.

Steve's daughter Ella has been helping her dad in every way she can.

"She was on the website, she wanted to email to find out how she could help- get her school to help out. That made me so happy, it was fantastic," he gushed.

Jeans for Genes day is an Aussie institution.

The TV personality recalls growing up and supporting the charity, remarking, "I remember being at school, wearing my jeans and bringing my gold coin."
