The actor raved about his co-star at Disney's D23 Expo in Anaheim, California on Saturday (15Jul17), calling Oprah "a force of nature", and revealing he learned a lot from the 63-year-old media mogul and actress.

"I loved working with Oprah," the 36-year-old actor told Entertainment Tonight. "She’s a force of nature.

"There's a lot to learn from a woman who has made this kind of impact, culturally and in the business, and you see why."

Chris was joined at the expo by Oprah and their A Wrinkle in Time co-stars Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling, who helped him debut the first trailer of the movie, which is due for release next year (Mar18).

Chris Pine gushed about working alongside Oprah Winfrey in the upcoming movie adaptation of "A Wrinkle in Time," which comes out next year. “I loved working with Oprah . I don’t know what I liked more, talking about books or acting alongside her.”

The much-anticipated movie is an adaptation of Madeleine L'Engle classic 1963 children's novel, and features a script written by Frozen's Jennifer Lee. It has been directed by Selma's Ava DuVernay.

Winfrey, who plays the wise and mysterious Mrs. Which in the film, admitted she had never read the book before director DuVernay approached her about the role, adding, "But when Ava mentioned it to me and told me it was a character who is one of the wisest women in the universe and is an angelic celestial being who is going to get to wear amazing costumes and get to work with Reese and Mindy... who wouldn’t say yes to that?"

Oprah was honoured with a Disney Legends Award during a ceremony at the expo on Friday (14Jul17).

The star was saluted alongside the likes of Marvel comic book guru Stan Lee, Carrie Fisher, and her A Color Purple co-star Whoopi Goldberg.

Disney bosses also introduced Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins in a teaser on Saturday (15Jul17) at the fan expo, as well as clips from a new live-action version of The Lion King and trailers and information about upcoming releases Aladdin, Dumbo,

Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and Avengers: Infinity War.

More than 8,000 fans crammed into the Anaheim Convention Center to check out the film studio's latest offerings.
