  Pisasale faces Qld court on fresh charges Former Ipswich mayor Paul Pisasale has returned to court after being charged with additional fraud and corruption offences, including taking household goods. Pisasale is accused of having "agreed to champion the Yamanto project for himself on account of influencing Ipswich City Council employees and private contractors", court documents claim.The case was adjourned to align the matter with other charges Pisasale is facing.As he left court, Pisasale told reporters he had put his heart and soul, and a lot of hard work, into the city of Ipswich and its people.

The Crime and Corruption Commission on Friday levelled additional accusations against two men previously charged under its investigation into the council.

A 66-year-old Brassall man will face Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday on eight charges of fraud and one count of corruption.

A 61-year-old Eight Mile Plains man will appear in the same court on August 28 accused of a corruption offence.

Fifteen people who either worked for or were linked to Ipswich council have now been charged with 86 corruption and related offences.

It has led the state government to draft special legislation to sack elected council officials, a move CCC head Alan MacSporran QC says is the only option.

The CCC is expected to release its report into governance failures within the council next week
