The single mother-of-three had faced mounting pressure over her position after the details of a confidential NSW Labor investigation into bullying in her office were made public.

Fighting back tears, Ms Husar said her reputation would never recover.

“It is an incredibly sad day for me. I have just derived immense pleasure from being able to represent my community, but enough is enough.”

Ms Husar will remain in parliament and the Labor Caucus until the next election.

The Member for Lindsay is the subject of an internal Labor Party investigation, with 20 individuals levelling various claims against her.

It’s alleged she diverted campaign funds into a personal bank account, made staff walk her dog and pick up its excrement, and belittled and tormented her employees.

One of the most salacious allegations was that Ms Husar exposed herself to fellow Labor MP Jason Clare in his office, while he was playing with his three-year-old son.

It’s a claim both Mr Clare and Ms Husar said was categorically untrue.“When I heard that in the initial assessment I threw up,” Ms Husar said.

The investigation, into 44 allegations, is due to be handed to the NSW ALP this week.

Minister for Communications Senator Mitch Fifield said the announcement left a “string of questions that Bill Shorten must answer.”
