  Body discovered in search for missing fisherman on NSW south coast A body, believed to be that of a missing fisherman, has been discovered on the New South Wales south coast this morning. Police suspended the search for the 80-year-old, who went missing while fishing at Bewong Creek in Shoalhaven, after emergency services located a body just after 8.10am today.Initial police investigations suggest he may have fallen out of his small boat as he was fishing yesterday afternoon.Officers and State Emergency Service volunteers began a search just after 10pm, after the man failed to return home, but were unable to find him.

A man has claimed that he just  “wanted to sunbake”, after he was arrested for allegedly making a bomb threat on a Gold Coast tourist boat.

Police had been called to reports of a disturbance at the river-end of Cavill Avenue in Surfers Paradise about 7am today, and became involved in an hour-long stand-off.

Witnesses told 9NEWS the man had walked from the wharf on to a commercial boat and said he would jump in the water if he was not allowed to sunbake.

Ardent Leisure this morning revealed the results in a trade update for Dreamworld and Whitewater World theme parks. Collective revenue for the parks was $3.6 million between their re-opening on December 10 through to December 31, a 63 percent drop from last year.The company claimed “progressive re-opening of Dreamworld’s thrill rides” after the closure had “negatively impacted attendance and revenues”.

Police have been forced to crash tackle a man in his underwear to end a bizarre stand-off on a boat in Surfers Paradise. © Nine News Police have been forced to crash tackle a man in his underwear to end a bizarre stand-off on a boat in Surfers Paradise. “This guy appeared, and they (boat staff) said get off…he said ‘no way’,” a witness said.

After the stand-off, police wrestled the 27-year-old to the ground and took him to hospital.  They found no explosives.

A police officer was injured in the incident and taken to hospital.
