Gatecrashers stormed the private function at Korzo Grill House on Gourlay Road in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Deni Dimovski, 31, was stabbed multiple times and later died from his injuries.

He had only recently moved to Melbourne.

A 29-year-old man will face court today charged with murder, affray and aggravated burglary over the alleged attack.

Mr Dimovski’s cousin told The Herald Sun the family were mourning “a quiet man who was very happy and loved life”.

Detective Senior Sergeant Pixie Fuhrmeister on Sunday said the group had forced their way into the venue and started a brawl.

Around 30 guests were inside at the time.
