  Foxconn says Apple, Amazon to join its bid for Toshiba chip business - Nikkei Apple Inc and Amazon.com Inc will join Foxconn's bid for Toshiba Corp's semiconductor business, the Nikkei business daily quoted Foxconn Chairman Terry Gou as saying on Monday. The two U.S. technology giants plan to "chip in funds", Gou said, according the interview with the newspaper. It was not immediately clear if this would take the form of a direct investment in the semiconductor unit or would be financing for the deal.Taiwan's Foxconn, formally known as Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd, has also partnered with its Japanese unit Sharp Corp in its bid.

A man has been charged with drink driving and driving while suspended after he crashed a rental truck and left it wedged under an overpass in Sydney overnight. Police allege the 32-year-old driver hit an overpass and rolled the small truck on Bulwara Road in Ultimo about 9.35pm on Monday night.

Thirsty Sydneysiders may have to wait a little longer to blow the froth off a few, after a truck laden with cartons of beer became wedged under a motorway overpass.

Cartons of beer were unloaded from a the B-double, which became stuck under an M4 overpass on Arthur Street in Granville about 10:00am.

Police are assessing damage at the site. There are no reports of injuries.

Traffic is continuing to use the M4 overpass but traffic has been stopped on Arthur Street.

Vision shows that the truck appears to have made it under two nearby overpass bridges, but hit trouble under the third.

Police say they have spoken to the driver and it is likely to be a few hours before the truck is removed.
